Financial Aid & Scholarships
Getting started on financial aid and scholarships? Make sure to register for the Granite Edvance Financial Aid 101 Webinar held each October for Arts Academy of New Hampshire families. (Find more details here.) Please note: Most scholarship sponsors do not require an application fee. Don’t pay anyone who claims to be “holding a scholarship or grant for you.” If you have to give money to get money, it might be a scam. Most legitimate sponsors do not require an application fee. Of those legitimate organizations that do charge an application fee, most will waive the fee if the applicant is determined to have financial need.
The office of Federal Student Aid provides approximately $112 billion in grant, work-study, and loan funds each year to help pay for college or career school. Federal Student Aid, a part of the U.S. Department of Education, is the largest provider of student financial aid in the nation. At the office of Federal Student Aid, our more than 1,400 employees help make college education possible for more than 10 million students each year.
The CSS Profile is an online application administered and maintained by the College Board used by colleges and scholarship programs to award non-federal institutional aid. (For federal aid you must complete the FAFSA — see above).
The National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS®) is the national database of information about loans and grants awarded to students. NSLDS® provides a centralized, integrated view of federal student aid loans and grants that are tracked through their entire lifecycle from aid approval through disbursement and repayment (if applicable).
The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation is New Hampshire’s statewide community foundation, founded in 1962 by and for the people of New Hampshire. We manage a growing collection of more than 1,800 funds created by generous individuals, families, and businesses, and award nearly $40 million in grants and scholarships every year. We work with generous and visionary citizens to maximize the power of their giving, support great work happening in our communities and lead and collaborate on high-impact initiatives.
Granite Edvance (formerly The NHHEAF Network) is an education nonprofit that provides New Hampshire students and families with valuable (and FREE!) information about the college planning process — from savings options and college admissions requirements, to applying for financial aid and scholarships.
StudentScholarships.org has been providing scholarship information to students and scholarship management services to companies since 2003.
CollegeScholarships.org was created to serve people who are interested in college funding. What makes us unique is that we list a broad array of funding opportunities without asking for information from you. There are no long forms to fill out in order to access our resources. We give you a list of available funding sources, and let you quickly move on to the application process.
